Is MM HF right for me??

I finished my bank's analyst program but am unsure what to pursue and if MM HF is right for me?

I do LOVE markets and it's always been a big interest of mine for as long as I can remember, but my passion for markets is likely in a way many experienced professionals would find naive, elementary or "just a hobby"

What I mean by this is that I enjoy following macro news, macro data, equity indices, economic cycles, multi-asset and sector trends, the FED, global central banks, etc. but really cannot find myself caring for trying to treasure hunt for some "high quality" mid/small cap value opportunity and waiting years for a thesis to play out.

I know it's hated on here and will get laughed at so apologies in advance, but I've found a lot more relative success and interest in following momentum, catalysts and charts.

From my understanding, MM HFs focus much more on relatively short-term strategies, momentum and earnings (and some may even use charting?) so this perhaps would be much more up my alley? I know I'll have to still prepare some deep-dive fundamental stock pitches for interviews which is fine, but is that something that's a constant on the job of doing deep-dives into new names constantly?

Paths like PE or Corporate Development were never even a consideration for me given my passion for the markets but ultimately am not sure if that necessarily means MM HF is the solution.

Thank you all for the help as I navigate my potential paths.

My brother in Christ you don’t even know what they do. Based on that information, no they are not for you.

“Charting”

Verition is ready for you

you will still be a model monkey at an MM, treading earnings doesn’t mean you’re not fundamental, it’s the opposite
