Is the compensation at Soros Fund Management this high ?

I'm in college right now, and I've a mentor who have worked at Soros Fund Management a few years ago. When I asked him about the salaries at SFM, he gave me these numbers:

Analyst: 350k$-500k$ base + 350k$-500k$ bonus
Associate: 750k$-1.000.000$ base + 500k$-2.000.000$ bonus
PM: 1.000.000$ base + 2.000.000$-10.000.000$ bonus
Sr. PM: 6.000.000$ base + 5.000.000$-25.000.000$ bonus

Are these bonuses and salaries real ? or is he mocking me ?

If by a few years ago you mean 15-20 years ago then yes he could be telling you the truth. Otherwise this "mentor" and post is full of shit lol. I don't know why a mentor would have any reason to lie to you, which is why I doubt the premise of this post, but at any rate it's wrong. Soros doesn't even have analyst/associate distinctions. You are either an analyst or a PM. PM base is $500k and Analyst base goes up to $250k I think. No hedge fund ON EARTH would have PM bases at $1mm+. You're in college so i'll give you a pass, but the entire premise of the industry is performance driven compensation, not 7 figure guaranteed salaries.
