JPM NY Group Selection for Eventual Pod Shop Exit

Incoming JPM IB summer analyst in NYC and will have group selection in a few months. I’m trying to think through it pretty carefully since I’ll likely return full-time to whichever group I’m placed into.

Longer term, I’m interested in exiting after my analyst years to pod shop. With that goal in mind, which groups would give me the best positioning? Especially after the merging of coverage and M&A teams.

Would especially appreciate input from anyone who has recruited for pods out of banking.
