Quants on Twitter are not the brightest. Very stupid to apply to a firm just because their spokeperson is active on Twitter.
The money making quant firms are pretty much under the radar and have zero need to do marketing in social media to garner interest from LPs.

By vol trading, does this mean they trade VIX/options, or does this mean they trade stocks and try to capture swings in their price? I’ve seen this term a lot but never was exactly sure what “vol trading” meant specifically.
Vol trading means you take exposure in volatility products, e.g. options, vix products or other derivatives
Know a quant who was swindled into working there. Avoid.
