I am currently interviewing with a long only, fund manager in Australia. It is a small team but they are growing quickly. I would be coming in as an analyst (1-2 years previous experience) with some CFAs.
What kind of compensation ranges should I expect for these kind of roles in Australia?

What is your b/g. Did you come from IB or ER?
Australia doesn't pay as high as US so need to lower expectations. Bonus at certain shops are very generous.
Not sure on AUM exactly, would be on the smaller side. I would be one of the only analysts. Performance has been pretty strong I think (not sure on exact numbers).
Came from buyside ER. Any (even) rough figures would be appreciated!
I mean its hard to say. There are shops that will pay anywhere from 100k to 1MM+ for analysts. A lot of it will be driven by performance and how it will be divided. Is your previous experience on sell-side ER? I'm not sure what 'buy-side ER' means. If former, I wouldn't expect too much. Also the philosophy of the fund will matter a lot.
Also how can you be sure if performance is strong without exact numbers? I would take everything funds tell you with a high level of doubt.
