Looking for advice | investment thesis

Hi, currently an analyst in M&A and looking to prepare for HF recruiting. I want to learn about how HF L/S strategy folks value a company, how they approach an industry and the companies within, and also how they convey investment ideas. I’m pretty comfortable with my DCF, LBO and other banking technicals, but find having investment ideas quite challenging.

Are there any good sources for me to read up on this topic? What firms publish investment thesis reports? I greatly appreciate any advice as I’m just getting educated about HF.

might be worth checking out to give you an idea of how to think about idea generation. It's been helpful to me and others on wso recently too
