MBA to Hedge funds

I want to move to a Macro hedge fund. Cleared CFA Level 3 (charter pending), will be enrolling for CQF/Data Science program in the coming few months. Currently working as a associate economist at a MM firm based out of India, previously wanted as a quant analyst forecasting macros and will work for a few more years before I apply for an MBA (targeting Columbia, Booth, Wharton, NYU). Just wanted to get a sense on if this trajectory makes sense?
