MBS trading at Pod Shops?
I’m a senior at a target school with a quantitative major about to start on an agency MBS/ CMO trading desk on the sellside next year at one of the top 3 BB (GS/MS/JPM) banks, and I was wondering what the buyside landscape looks like in this area? Are there many pods that trade specifically MBS? Also, what type of book size would an MBS pod run? Is it typical for MBS traders to move over to the buyside like in rates? Thanks!
