MM HF interview
Hello guys,
I have an interview with a PM that at one of the big MM and wants to hire a sub-PM.
I have only been at SM before. 6 yr exp. Have a small sleeve for my own strategy but no formula payout.
Do u guys can share how the process usually goes : is it several rounds with the PM ? Who else I am going to interview with ?
Anything different from a classic SM interview to expect ?
Can I ask for a formula payout ? What range seems fair for 6 yr exp, I was thinking about 5%, does it make sense ?
Thanks

Who cares about the number of rounds. It will obviously depend from fund to fund.
The process will likely focus a lot more on how you think about risk, i.e. position sizing, correlations, factors, when to gross up or down, and how to avoid large drawdowns.
The payout formula is fairly common, I think the usual range is closer to 7-10%. But just as important are the risk limits imposed on your portfolio. What is the max loss tolerated before they cut you, net exposure limits, size limits etc.
