Modelling test for event driven HF

I am doing a stock pitch for an event driven fund and they want me to make a DCF as a part of the pitch. As they are event driven I suspect they want good quality modelling and whatnot.

I can’t tell whether I should make a full 5 year forecast with long term thesis or if I should just look at a short term next 6-12 month forecast. Since I thought a DCF implies a company’s long term value, would it make sense to do a short term proposition?
