Moving from IB Covg to DE Shaw/Citadel/Two Sigma?
anyone care to describe the culture/salary differences between the two sets of firms? currently in a BB IB coverage team but have been approached by one of the quant teams at the three hedge funds for a kind of coverage role.
i don't know much about the hedge funds other than what you can find from google/company websites.

If its Citadel, get ready for it to become much more competitive. Much shorter rope than most firms but the upside comp wise is terrific

And Citadel is one of those are just too large now, they're a lot more than just your typical mm shop. They have the kind of infrastructure (both monetarily, and relationship wise with vendors) that'll get them to scale fairly quickly.
Ok so assuming it isn’t citadel.. any ideas on the other big quant firms for this kind of role?
Out of curiosity, what would this role entail if it's quant-related? I know lots of people go to L/S roles from IB but curious what this coverage role would require from you
