Multi manager comp
I’ve just been through the final round of an interview process with Point72. It felt pretty good and I am confident I’ll receive an offer.
I am curious as to the typical comp structure and what is reasonable in terms of cash bonuses. For reference, I have been in equity research on the sell side for 7 years. The role I have interviewed for is an analyst in a consumer/leisure pod. The unit economics seem pretty favorable with 1 PM and 1 other analyst. I’ve been told the size of the pods GMV is c£1bn - around 5 times leverage so around £200m equity.
I haven’t had any discussion yet around comp. But I am assuming base pay around £120k with a cash bonus (w/ good performance) of 4-5x my base salary. Is that reasonable?
At C/M: hired an experienced sell sider and paid around 300k all in first year, no sleeve. Decent pnl
Doubt anyone’s dumb enough to pay you that much coming from the sell side with no proven PnL generating ability
~300k all in sounds feasdible
This is a small pod and since you have zero buyside experience, I'd think $300-500k makes sense, probably in-line with your sell-side comp?
1 pm 1 analyst running $1bn is not a small pod
$1bn is a small pod. At least my shop
