Need some Career advice

Seeking Career Advice for Hedge Fund Equity Analyst

I'm 6 months into this new position. overall performance is better than the market slightly. was told to pitch long ideas only for equity L/S port. my paper port long ideas return is slightly up while the market is slightly down. however, not all of the long ideas go into the real port and I have no access to portfolio P&L and holdings at any given time. PM did not explain why.

in real port, my long ideas return contribution is slightly down, LSD%, just in line with the market. but this is considered bad given we are equity L/S.

from my understanding, the real port is up this year thanks to index shorts.

I'm getting lots of heat from the PM every day. More stocks suffered losses than gains. So I'm the detractor to the real port. every time our holdings reported earnings miss or the share price went against me, my analysis was wrong. Sometimes, noticed some negative catalyst and told the PM to sell but refused. after the company reported and guided down earnings, it's my fault again for pitching this stock.

it's increasingly disturbing to me that the analyst is forever at fault and there is no process to track.

I'm very frustrated now and I don't know what to do. to look for the next gig, I guess I will be drilled at the short stint.

what is your advice? keen to learn.
