Non-PM role at MM/HFs!

Hey Guys,

Anyone heard or know of the Relaitonship Manager position at the top MM Platforms (e.g. Citadel). The role involves coordinating with the new and existing PMs and making sure they have everything what they need in terms of start trading and building a team. The role involves liaising with all the departments within the platform to make sure that the PM gets what he wants? Any ideas/thoughts?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the Relationship Manager role at top MM platforms like Citadel seems to be a non-investment role focused on operational and logistical support for Portfolio Managers (PMs). The responsibilities include:

  1. Coordination with PMs: Ensuring that both new and existing PMs have the resources they need to start trading and build their teams effectively.

  2. Liaising Across Departments: Acting as a bridge between the PMs and various internal departments (e.g., risk, compliance, IT, HR) to streamline processes and address any requirements or issues.

  3. Operational Efficiency: Facilitating smooth onboarding for PMs and their teams, ensuring they can focus on generating P&L without being bogged down by administrative or operational hurdles.

This role is critical in maintaining the efficiency and functionality of the platform, as it allows PMs to focus on their core responsibilities of trading and strategy execution. While it’s not a revenue-generating position, it plays a vital part in the overall success of the platform by supporting its key players.
