Non-QM to general Structured Products

I currently work at a large securitizer of Non-QM mortgages in an origination and underwriting capacity. I was recently promoted to VP, but I’m concerned that compensation growth may plateau at my current firm and am interested in broadening my product exposure.

What are some viable lateral opportunities? I recognize this is a fairly niche specialty, but I believe the modeling and analytical skills are transferable across other asset classes.

What paths are realistically available? Is it feasible to laterally transition into other structured products, or should I expect potential title compression? Additionally, what does current market compensation look like for this asset class, and what types of alpha strategies are relevant in this space?

Any insight would be extremely helpful.
