I am currently a high school PSEO student with about 50 college credits. I am wondering whether it is worth it to go to a target school, NYU/ U Mich. vs a full ride to a non-target state school like the University of Minnesota Carlson. Thank you!

Full ride vs full tuition meaning what, room & board included vs you just have to figure out housing costs? If that's the only difference, and it's not NYU (because fuck NYC CoL) then absolutely do UMich > whatever in Minnesota lol
Full tuition and board comes as part of the scholarship to the University of Minnesota. U Mich and NYU I got pretty much no FA so comes out to around 125/150k for both
Oh ok it wasn't clear from your title, you meant full ride vs no financial aid, not full ride vs full tuition covered. In that case yeah man 100% take the full ride. If you're really that worried just kick ass the first year or two then try to transfer to a target if you feel like the opportunities aren't as competitive. Good luck!

If your family can afford Michigan/NYU, then it’s an easy choice to go there imo. If you need to take out 250k+ in loans, then it’s a toss up. Michigan/NYU will open infinitely more doors if you’re set on a career in high finance. If you go accounting/corporate route then it probably won’t matter, so better to take the full ride.
In dollar value, what would the breakeven point be in your opinion. I probably will only have to pay about 125k.

About 200k but I am on my own for college. Pretty unfortunate because for financial aid they assume the parents help out so I assume I will get little to nothing
No idea what your interests are, but if you are dead set on going to a target school but worried about the costs, you could consider National Guard scholarships. I went to a target school with the plan to take on loans and found out about ROTC. The military paid for $200K+ of tuition costs.
I ended up choosing to go active duty, but you can get the same scholarship benefits in the National Guard without active-duty commitment. I know a couple guys who took this route with the plans to choose active duty but ended up doing junior year internships, opting for the national guard, joining full-time at good banks, and later ended up in PE. Some banks are not open to National Guard officers because of the one weekend per month and two weeks in the summer training commitment, but numerous are open to hiring NG officers.
I am leaving active duty soon. One thing I have noticed in my job search is the veteran community is supportive and helpful when it comes to breaking in. Veterans almost universally respond to my networking emails, make time to chat, and go the extra mile to help me out. It has also given me tremendous perspective to work with a population of Soldiers/Airmen who lead completely different lives than the people you meet at a top school.
