Oaktree Value Opportunities?

Hey does anyone have any insights into Oaktree’s value opportunities fund? This seems to be the ~$1 billion hedge fund that was spun out of their main vehicle and isn’t the Global Opportunities fund, I’m having trouble finding information about them elsewhere. Thank you all!

You’re the best. Is it more trading oriented? I know it was spun off of the flagship distressed fund, so do you happen to know if they focus specifically on distressed debt or is it a broader opportunistic credit mandate? It would also be great to hear about the groups reputation generally. Thank you so much!

My understanding is it's basically all public stuff, if Oaktree is playing in private stuff it's primarily in the bigger Opportunistic Credit (previously Distressed Debt) or Private Credit (previously Strategic Credit) groups. Focus seems to be on distress but they can go up and down the cap stack. That's true for the OC platform as well to some extent. I'm speculating here but dividing lines between OC and VO platforms seems to be 1) size / ability to drive restructuring process via blocking position and 2) ability to play private in OC. Steve Tesoriere, the PM, sits in NYC but most of the Opps group is in LA, I don't know whether the analysts in NYC are dedicated to Steve or what. But I'll say I have a generally high opinion of the people I've met from both locations.

Any more info on this? Pay and trajectory compare with broader Opportunities Fund, culture/hours, what people on the team are like?
