Paths to Crossover Fund
Hi, I am currently interning at a HF this summer and am interested in joining a crossover fund (Coatue, Altimeter, Dragon, wtv) in the future. I was wondering what are the paths to Crossover from here? Was thinking about getting operating experience in semester as well!
Any insight would be helpful!
Are you looking to be on the public or private side? The teams are split at most crossover funds these days
the vast majority of crossover funds split their public and private teams because growth venture and public equities investing are two completely different animals, and it never works well to have the same team doing both. The only exceptions are some teams at the pod shops.
A common path is starting at a hedge fund, then moving to a growth or tech-focused investing firm, and later joining a crossover fund
