comp is below market for juniors and ok for mid-level. MD's however split 30% of firm profits and thus make ungodly money, however it is quite difficult to make MD as you can imagine.

There are definitely lots of "niche" products you can trade at PIMCO (i wouldn't call rates or FX "niche"...) - they incorporate a lot of hedge fund type strategies and are very sophisticated.
