Places to rerecruit for FT in NY

Hi all, I'll be interning at a top LO AM this summer for SA24. I won't be in New York and am thinking of rerecruiting for FT to get to NY. Curious what public equity shops are open to rerecruiting and would appreciate LO experience.

Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights on full-time recruiting for New York:

  1. Bulge Bracket and Boutique Investment Banks:

    • Stephens
    • FT Partners
    • Guggenheim
    • Brown Gibbons Lang
    • Mizuho
    • Duff & Phelps
    • Satellite offices of investment banks in less desirable locations
  2. General Advice:

    • Networking: Start networking early and reach out to people in the industry. This can help you get a foot in the door, especially since some banks may not post openings publicly.
    • Job Boards: Regularly check job boards as positions can open up throughout the year. For example, Raymond James had openings in February in the past.
    • Proactive Approach: Be proactive about your FT recruiting journey. Prepare for technicals early and jump on complex projects to stand out.
  3. Specific Banks:

    • Goldman Sachs (GS): Some precedent of FT positions, but last year only FIG.
    • Morgan Stanley (MS): FT seems to be through SA/Off-cycle.
    • J.P. Morgan (JPM): Claims to recruit FT, but spots are extremely limited/non-existent.
    • Rothschild (RS): Only hire FT through 6-month off-cycles.
    • Lazard (Laz): Only hire FT through 3-month internships.
    • Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML): Claims to recruit FT, but the process is separate from the Dutch SA process.
    • Citi: Has recruited FT in past years, but seems unlikely this year given auto SA offers.
    • Barclays (Barc): Claims to recruit FT, but spots are extremely limited.
    • Deutsche Bank (DB): Recruits FT.
    • Nomura: Recruits FT.
    • RBC: Does not recruit FT.
  4. Timing:

    • FT positions are usually open during September and early October, so it may be too late for some opportunities. However, it doesn't hurt to reach out and check for any available positions.

By focusing on these banks and following the advice provided, you can increase your chances of successfully re-recruiting for a full-time position in New York. Good luck!
