Point72 Testing - What to expect

Hi all,

I am scheduled to sit a 45-min modelling test as part of an application for a p72 gig.

Given that it's a mere 45 minutes, I am a bit perplexed as to what it will include. If it were a full 3 way statement with various schedules and assumptions that required building the test would be 1.5 hrs or so.....

Any help on what to expect would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there,

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems like the modeling tests at firms like Point72 can vary. However, given the 45-minute time frame, it's likely that the test will focus on a specific aspect of financial modeling rather than a full 3-way statement model.

For instance, you might be asked to build a revenue forecast model, a discounted cash flow model, or perhaps an analysis of a company's financial ratios. The key will be to demonstrate your understanding of the company's business model and your ability to make reasonable assumptions.

Remember, the goal of these tests is not just to assess your technical skills, but also your business acumen and your ability to think on your feet. So, don't get too hung up on the details - focus on the big picture and make sure your assumptions and calculations make sense.

And remember, practice makes perfect! The more you practice, the more comfortable you'll be on the day of the test. Good luck!
