Reading WSJ, no idea where to start
Hey everyone,
I am a student and have just started trying to read WSJ. I honestly have no idea where to start as I have limited market knowledge and my main goal is to learn and eventually form my own opinions. Any advice on where to start for a beginner?
Lol dude, come on. Where to start reading the newspaper? Ok, ok, I'll throw you a bone. The front page of the WSJ has a column on the left hand side with some headlines and references to where they are in the paper. Start there.
On another note, there's not really a"right" way to read a news paper. It's also difficult since you're just a student. Most people will read what's applicable to their industry. I see you have "equity research" as the area you're interested in. Well if there is an sector/industry that you'd like to focus on? Then I'd recommend skimming through the paper for references to that sector and read relevant material.
And loosen up a little bit. I'm sure you didn't really need me to tell you any of the above. You'd be no worse off had you just taken a stab at reading the news paper and found out how you like to read it. Hell you may have even learned something from it. Anyway, best of luck.
What's a 'WSJ?'
Still trying to find a space where I can write my daily journal entries, but everytime I buy it, someone already typed all over it!
