Reasonable comp for a mid-level quant?
My background: 5 years of experience building forecasting models, risk models, volume models, doing portfolio construction, etc. Nearly the full market-neutral mid-frequency equities stack with a focus on machine learning (i.e. nonparametric regression). The notable exception is transaction cost modeling (a different team handles that). I also have some experience with global futures.
I work at a place that's collaborative so it isn't possible to take full ownership of a given pnl stream. My CEO is cheap and I suspect I'm being underpaid so I'm looking for jobs to see what I'm really worth but I'm not sure what to reasonable expect.
What's your guess?
The total comp could range anywhere from 300k to 700k if you dont own a PnL stream. If your comp is linked to PnL , you can make much more but then downside is you risk losing your job during bad years.
