Reference Check
I am currently in a process and I know the firm has called the references, just curious if people have any input on what the odds are of getting an offer after references, expected timeline of offer etc. I know it's a good sign but not sure how likely it is to get dinged from a reference because my understanding is reference check is typically the last thing before an offer. Appreciate any input.
How far along the process are you? Who gave you met and have you completed the case?
Have done the case, talked to every member of the team including a superday in the office.
These situations have always led to an offer from my experience. It also depends on firm the (SM, MM, LO)
Offer will come unless the fund steps back on recruiting for whatever reason (eg fund performance, redemptions, internal restructuring; have seen it happen once, but it's rare)
Still waiting, it seems to be taking some time which is making me nervous…
Make sure your references have responded to the background check outreach. I found out this is what was delaying my process by reaching out to HR, which allowed me to bump my references to make sure they filled out the applications.
