sample hedge fund model

Anyone know of a good example of how the big shops like their models? I know how to set up a model and accounting, blah blah, but everyone has a preferred format. I'd like to see one if I end up getting asked to set one up, so I know what to aim for.

i think he wants to know how a HF valuation model of company xyz would differ from something like a sell-side model?

Yes, but specifically I am looking for an Excel model, or at least a template of one, so I know how crazy to get with it. My coverage has much less accessible information than what you find in those gigantic presentations, and also I don't have the resources (time and money) to get anywhere near that amount of info.

More importantly, for sending out an idea write-up in a cold email, I've been told to keep it short, and that's kind of at odds with that level of detail.

Either way, I like your effort here. Good reads. SB to you.

All HFs have a huge meeting every January in Macau where they all agree to use the same model and this guy wants it, duh
i went this year, i think this year's iteration is prime!
