Seeking mentorship
Hi all,
I'm an undergraduate freshman from a non-target. However, I'm really passionate about getting my foot in the door of the hedge fund world where having a good connection is of the paramount importance.
I have been networking rigorously even before the college and have talked to people from both sell side and buy side, and they are impressed by my determination and knowledge (not to be arrogant here, but they genuinely think it is unexpected from a freshman).
However, I have not talked to anyone from senior positions like MDs or hedge fund managers. My pure intention for getting a mentor is to get experienced advice and good connections. In that way, I will have someone whom I can look up to as a model and will have a clearer vision on what to focus.
So, I was wondering how you guys met your first life-changing mentors and what are the suggestions you have for me to find a mentor?
Thank you!
"Seeking for mentorship."
Either you're seeking a mentor, or seeking mentorship. Maybe you should partner with an english professor before you embarrass yourself any further.
Thank you for the correction! I have revised the title.
"Is of the paramount importance" should just be "of paramount importance."
"Before the college" should just be "before college."
