Sell side trading->Grad school->Quant hedge fund

Hi!

I’m a recent grad from a non target with an offer to do trading on the sell side. My ultimate goal is to be an Algo/quant trader so here’s the plan I have made. I plan to be an analyst for 2 years on the sell side to make some money and take care of some family stuff and then go to do MS in Computer Science or Financial Engineering from an Ivy League school or a top-tier non-Ivy target school. After that I’d want to end up in a quant heavy seat on the buy side.

What do you guys think? Any thoughts or suggestions? Is it possible to go to a hedge fund directly in my situation?

I did Computer Science with a minor in Math. I was on track to get a major in math but had to graduate early dude to circumstances so I only missed one class. On the technical side, I feel that grad school can firm up my research and technical ability.
