Staying in touch with a HFs internal recruiter
I recently had a first round interview at a top notch MM HF with their internal recruiter. Sadly, I wasn't selected for the second round as they said I wasn't the right fit for the PM's team. They mentioned that this doesn't mean I wouldn't be the right fit for another PM's team but unfortunately, none of their other PMs are hiring. However, they said for me to stay in touch in case one of the other PMs, they think I could be a good fit for, requests to hire someone at my level.
Given the chances of this happening anytime soon is very rare. How should I best proceed in staying in contact? I don't want to be annoying by sending monthly emails asking if a new role has come up at my level, but at the same time I don't want to risk an opportunity arising and, having not stayed in touch, miss out.
How would you approach this situation? Forget it and just move on or send an email once every x months asking if there are any new roles available?
Thanks

BUMP - am curious about this as well.... what is the fine line between staying top of mind but not seeming desperate
It is a good idea to be friends with some external recruitment agency. Their day-to-day job is to speak with internal HRs/hiring managers, so they generally know the majority of good opportunities available.
can you recommend some? I distrust most recruiters
