Thoughts on Daloopa / fintech software for hedge funds?
Has anyone here used Daloopa or other related softwares for hedge fund analysts?
We've come across them when looking for ways to automate our earnings updates. They have a financial model library for historical data and an Excel plug-in that updates models.
ROFL, another Point72 thread in drag. "Daloopa was formed in 2019, inspired by our founders’ personal experience at Point72, a NYC-based long/short equity hedge fund." CEO from Point72, CFO from AirBnB and COO from MSFT's Azure team.
Now for my old man yelling at clouds soapboxing. The little bit of information I gleened from their website isn't all that inspiring. Hooray, the one example you share on your website for all investment scenarios is that you built a tool that can scrape XBRL data on an SEC filing and map it to an excel doc. Because that's never been done before almost a decade ago...And you can't set up an RSS feed to instanty notify you of specific new filings per CIK/ticker either (edit to add: this tool is built-in to the SEC's EDGAR portal itself for the very purpose of helping folks like analysts and investors stay on the bleeding edge. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if Daloop's tool uses this tie-in themselves).
