Time to automate away toxic back office staff

No matter where — whether it was when I was still in IB or where I am currently (buyside giant with hundreds of billions of dollars in AUM), there have always been at least a couple of back office bitches who were either creating toxic environments or trying to sabotage my reputation (such as spreading nonsense about me even though I never interacted with any of them lol). I guess none of these DEI losers could stomach the idea of a gorgeous and extremely successful Asian woman who’s garnering justified attention. But it’s only a matter of time before many back office functions either get outsourced or automated. It will be a win for all the superstars who generate alpha and keep the lights on.

Aren't Asians "Diversity"? You're literally DEI.

Only Europeans and Middle Eastern people are considered "Caucasian" or "White" from a legal standpoint.

Official Census Bureau definition of "White":

"A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.”

Depends on the field, and in general they’re not dei. In finance, college admissions, etc no. Take college admissions for example, as an AsiaN, ON AVERAGE, they have the highest SAT scores and test scores, and the need higher scores than whites, blacks, etc to get into the same school. Opposite of diversity if you ask me, and sort of racist. Idk if you remember the court case about Harvard ranking Asians lower in interviews. Many such cases

Guys genuine question have u ever dated someone long term in the same industry? I feel like most women in finance are just not cut out for LTRs…unless you want to be their bitch. Definitely have had some great ONS but I’ve only actually dated one for over a yr and it was kind of insufferable. It got to a point where I had to end it. She was at a mega fund and was such a prestige whore—I couldn’t take it. I’ve noticed most women (yes most people as well) in finance are like that idk…it could just be anecdotal.

TLDR is it to much of a pain to get strong willed women with big egos to submit? Does the combination of being in NYC, surrounded by guys at work mostly lead to high body counts? Are any women in your network the wifey type or just for short term fun?

I dated alpha women in alpha careers for all of my life. They don't complain when you work too much, they tend to be pretty, and they're smart. Also, they were often the only women I met naturally 😅

Last year I had to admit to myself that while the challenge has been exciting, it's not been good for my long term mental health.

THEY WILL NEVER "SUBMIT" (i.e., stop seeking power games). THEIR DNA IS TO FIGHT YOU. EVERY TIME YOU "WIN", THEY WILL REMEMBER IT AND SEEK REVENGE ONCE YOU'RE VULNERABLE. (Quotes because it's ridiculous to try to "win" or to get the partner to "submit" in a relationship.)

Been dating pretty betas for almost a year now, and it has been smooth. Took me a while to take them seriously (things suddenly seemed too easy, in comparison), but it's the first time in my adult life that I'm not in a constant, grueling war.

The downside of betas is that they can be helpless and need your support more often (i.e., figuring out everyday things), and they sometimes do dumb things. There's no 100% free lunch.

Lol this post is too funny… so first dating, especially if you are seeking long term relationship, is not about winning / conquering. If you only find security by making the other person “submit”, you decidedly put yourself on the offense and your partner at defense, which only end up in constant fighting. You two are supposed to support each other with your strengths, not trying to use your strengths to dominate one another. A good relationship should have mutual respect, mutual support, deep connections.

I have found this “domination” mindset is common among finance professionals, which is why I never dated finance guys. The idea of classifying ppl as alpha and beta etc is also silly. When you think in that way, your mind is saying I’m better than you, and you think you have leverage over “betas” and deserve their respect and admiration. No bro that’s not how you make ppl love you. You only receive love when you love the other person and respect them as your equal, another human, not some social status.

TLDR - love is not power game. Drop your ego, and don’t date ppl who have big egos. My 2ct from my own long-term happy relationship and my observation of friends who are in happy relationships.

I want all back office jobs disappeared by automation just so we don't ever have to see another post about whether it's possible to move from being a treasury/portfolio analyst to a FO investing seat.
