Top under the radar tiger cubs/grandcubs

Not asking about the Vikings and TGMs and D1s of the world but some of the smaller, more under the radar ones. Some have continued to perform well and are probably excellent seats. Curious if any come to mind that fit the description.

Ignore title.

I have heard the best things about SRS in terms of PM generosity, low turnover, and wealth of the non-PM employees that stay being extremely high.

i have heard the absolute worst things I’ve ever heard about any firm about Avala. At least 1/2 the original team isn’t there anymore. Some of the stories about the PM are literally nightmare inducing.

I have an offer from an SRS-type fund right now. Large size, similar investing style, no turnover, and PM generosity.

I also have a signed MF PE offer. Everyone around me is encouraging me to do MF PE first to protect my downside. Is it a no-brainer to do MF PE in this situation? Feels like a seat so rarely opens up at one of these HFs that you have to jump on it when you can.

Heard positive things about SRS - generous and well-mannered PM,  tight knit team with low turnover, strong track record.

Heard Avala’s entire founding team already gone within 1-2 years of launch…4-5 analysts, cfo/coo, head marketer, and others

My roommate worked there. Avala no different to others listed. Probs better now that they’ve got more established people.. and they’re what, four years in at this point? D1 better now too, sisters boyfriend is there. JAT l/s fundamental is done

a college kid i mentor asked me the same question...it's been a while since i've been a junior...but question to the younger/non-HF crowd here...what is the appeal of being a junior at the tiger cubs/grandcubs (i didn't even know that's what the 3-gen is called...but i like it)?

i've never worked at a tiger cub...but...have many friends...though half the ones i know have shut down.  anyway...i either know the founders or sector heads at all of these funds...can't comment on what it's like to be junior at these...but if any of you have questions about specific shops - feel free to ask
