Tudor - Insight?

I have basic info on Tudor Investments, but is there any insight anybody can give me? How do you see this fund performing going forward? How would you feel about working there?

On another note, what do you make of the position "Research Assistant?" Not equity research or anything, but researching data/info for traders and other people in the firm. Is this more desirable than ops in terms of growth, experience, advancement/pay and exit opportunities (should one want to leave down the road)?

The fund is certainly top tier - Paul Tudor Jones is legendary. I would not worry about performance going forward.

However, I am not sure what your position would entail.

what part of tudor you would be joining. Clearly, 2007 was a tough year for Tudor, especially Raptor, which did pretty poorly and had $1bn+ redeemed. The entire organization is so big now, it just depends what part of the firm you are joining: global macro, long/short, PE/VC parts of the firm. Overall, a very good name, obviously there are some serious questions about the firm's ability to manage 20bn+ of capital (questions that they are raising in their own investor letters)

I contacted Tudor HR twice about internship opportunities and never heard back. Congrats on your offers.

This is like asking "Who is Mickey Mantle?"

Uh, not it isn't. I'm not American nor am I into baseball therefore there's no way I can know who he is. Yet the OP is into finance and could very likely be American seeing the majority of this board is from the States therefore it is an invalid comparison.

tudor is one of the top funds in the world and of course tudor himself is a legend. In terms of performance tudor was up about 20% in '09 and should continue to be amongst the best and most consistent funds i would consider a job there, even if it was a job digging up data from traders all day, as comparable to a front-office job at a bulge bracket bank if your ambition is to work in the hedge fund industry.
