Undergrad. REcruiting
I will be attending Villanova next year, but am interested in PE/ HF. Does Villanova place well for these jobs, how hard will ti be to get into this field from NOva. I am open to transferring after a year to a better school. What are better undergrad B-programs that will give me a better chance at HF? Realistic options if i get a 3.8+ at NOva fresh year
Wharton, period. You would not have much of a shot if you went to Yale kiddo. I would try to transfer or aim for banking and then get into PE / HF later on.
Get good grades, focus on getting good internships. Don't listen to the douche above. Nova is a good school, you have an impeccable GPA and you'll get whatever you want.
You want to work at a Hedge Fund? Let's start with research. Go to the snapshot 'nova put out of companies undergrads took jobs with the last three years. Write down every company, Google every company. Write down which ones are Hedge Funds (and/or PE, IB, MC etc). There ya go.
I agree with nutsaboutWS. You don't "need" to be from a target school to land at a HF. It does help though.
Nova is a good school. Do very well there and have a good time. Then, network your ass off to get the job that you want.
mas, it's possible for him to work at a firm that didn't recruit at Nova over the past 3 years. I don't think you should feel limited to that list at all. Just be prepared to work very hard to get where you want to go.
Lets, I agree with you 100%, however looking at those will give him a good idea of which if any recruit there, which ones multiple people may have gone to, and which ones he may be able to network his way into.
