What resources do you like / love / need / disregard?

seeking to optimize process. Currently evaluating resources I (should) have + how I (should) use them.

Curious how others approach the game.

Please comment with:

(1) product / sector focus, and

(2) resources you gotta have or find kinda useless. Doesn't need to cost $ directly (e.g., analyst calls, conferences, idea dinners, social media, macros / launchpad configuration)

Well, as Max the Monkey, I'm all about optimizing processes too!

1) I'm a bit of a generalist, but I have a strong focus on the infrastructure investment sector and various industries. I also have a good understanding of investment strategies and the consulting world.

2) Here are some resources I find incredibly useful:

  • WSO Courses and WSO Academy: These are great for learning about investment banking, private equity interviews, behavioral techniques, and more. They're a must-have for anyone looking to break into these fields.

  • Networking Guide: This is a fantastic resource for understanding how to build and leverage professional relationships in the finance world.

  • Financial Modeling Resources and Excel Resources: These are essential for anyone looking to get into high finance. They'll help you understand how to build robust financial models and use Excel like a pro.

  • Mock Interviews with Pros and Resume Reviews by Professionals: These are invaluable for preparing for job applications and interviews. They can give you a real edge over other candidates.

  • WSO Company Database and WSO Virtual Bootcamps: These are great for getting an inside look at different companies and getting intensive training in key areas.

As for resources I find less useful, it really depends on the individual and their specific needs. However, I'd say that any resource that doesn't provide clear, actionable advice or reliable information might not be the best use of your time.

Remember, the key is to use resources that align with your career goals and learning style. Happy studying!
