What to do to break into quant funds

Hey chimps, monkeys, humanoids,

I'm a sophomore studying finance at a target school. I've recently decided to pursue a quant fund career. Any suggestions as to what skills are more important right now for me to acquire to land an internship? How about for fundamental funds? Thanks.

Hk

The best advice i can give to you is to try to distinguish from the crowd of other junior quants. Simply start doing finance research and try to come up with some interesting idea and write a short paper about it. You will learn a lot during a process of writing a paper, you will have something to put into your CV and to speak about at interview. And future employers are always curious about what you have done by yourself ...
