Which Masters Program for Quant?
I’m inquiring about returning to school to pursue a masters in the goal of working at firms like Two Sigma, DE Shaw, Citadel, AQR, and BAM. I’m currently working in the hedge fund space. Can you provide insight into the target schools/programs possibly in order?
Look into some top MFE-type programs. There's more information on QuantNet, but the most highly regarded (and those with the best chances of placement into several, though maybe not all, of the firms you mentioned) are Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley, Columbia MFE, NYU Fin Math.
Thank you for this, I’m looking on quantnet for more detail.
Can't go wrong with the Fin Maths courses at top EU schools like http://www.lse.ac.uk/study-at-lse/Graduate/Degree-programmes-2019/MSc-F…</a">LSE, https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/graduate/courses/msc-mathematical-finan…</a">Oxford, Imperial (https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/pg/mathematics/mathematics-finance/</a">Math Fin or https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/pg/mathematics/statistics/</a">Stat Fin), or https://www.unibocconi.eu/wps/wcm/connect/Bocconi/SitoPubblico_EN/Navig…</a">Bocconi
Bocconi top school HAHAHA!
I did 50% of the MFE at CMU a while back. I think they had really impressive employment statistics at the time. There was a satellite campus near wall street too.
For what concerns Europe, check this out: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/complete-european-master-guide-f…
For the US, I would say Princeton and Columbia's MFE. Princeton has a big edge tho
Thank you, this falls in-line with my findings. However, why do you say Princeton has a big edge in Columbia?
I personally haven't been impressed with graduates from Columbia MFE. Much more so by folks from CMU, Princeton, Berkeley and a few others.
