ESG like framework but for Human and AI

I think humans are soon to develop a new framework to save the human workforce from the disruption of AI. Just like ESG was invented to protect society from corporate greed

If you look at the history of ESG,  specifically the social responsibility part, it emerged primarily as a response to counter corporations 'Profit at all costs" mindset. It gained serious attention in 2015 after the climate agreement in Paris, where climate risk was recognised as financial risk as well. BlackRock is also committed to serving the social purpose over profits only. ESG has evolved from nice to have to something critical. Numerous studies show the positive impact of ESG in a firm’s value and how it appreciates the stock price. There are criticisms as well.

One of Ashwath Damodaran's research claims that it serves more as a marketing tool to attract investors rather than a genuine predictor of financial performance. I think a similar framework will emerge soon, but this time it will involve AI and humans exclusively. Before, companies used to degrade the environment for profit and served no value to society except for distributing profits.

But the modern investors' pressure for sustainability and transparency has given ESG so much importance. Simply speaking, companies overlooked societal causes and valued profit over anything, which triggered a concern. Similarly, if AI replaces the human workforce, which is happening and is supposed to increase more in the near term, Society in general won't really accept this.

No one would like the fact that robots are taking jobs of their family members, and in exchange, they are getting customer service at a 2x faster rate. Sure, it will help companies to make a profit just like they used to do before by harming the environment and society back in the days, but resistance is very likely.

There are several reports, like the one from the IMF, which claim AI may take away 40% of the jobs. The counterargument is that AI will predominantly create more jobs, but the sentiment is that AI is taking away more jobs than it is creating right now. Gigantic inequality and Innovation are less likely to survive in the long term.  So, what could the New framework look like? It will simply focus on the Human and AI intersection, as I said.

Companies may feel pressure to include more and more humans as opposed to AI, even if it harms their production or productivity for a while. Presently, the company will be a good ESG compared to those that have a bad ESG score. Call it delusion or what, but ESG does have a serious impact on companies these days.

I expect to see such changes in the upcoming years, but this time with a new framework that will push the companies to sell them, saying "We are more human" rather than "We cut our expenses by 4% using AI". I am not saying it will happen very soon, but I am pretty sure it will happen one day. I may or may not be alive to see this, but this will eventually happen.
