General Electric Long Term Care Reinsurance - Harry Markopolos

Harry Markopolos proved Bernie Madoff was doing something illegal in 2000, 8 years before he got caught by the SEC.

Now Markopolos is saying that GE is hiding it's reinsurance losses on long term care plans, and it will wipe out at least 40% of GE's market capitalization at prices prior to his release of information.

How credible is Markopolos paper that CNBC posted? He says that he will receive a portion of profits from a hedge fund's position. If the claims turn out to be false... is this market manipulation? What's going on here? I would like to know.
