How to truly invest

Is there a proven investing strategy? I understand it’s never black and white but is there any timeless methods? From what I’ve seen, investing in the S&P outperforms everything long term from all studies, but wanted to see everyone’s thoughts.

Struggling to decide between: 1) all in on $VOO 2) 70% $VOO, 30% $QQQM 3) 80% $VOO/$QQQM (more VOO), 20% individual stocks

I of course, will take all advice with a grain of salt.
