Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights and advice for finding a potential co-founder for your fund or company:

  1. Networking and Community Engagement:

    • Engage actively in forums like Wall Street Oasis where professionals in hedge funds, venture capital, and alternative investments gather.
    • Attend industry conferences, webinars, and networking events to meet like-minded individuals.
  2. Highlight Your Unique Proposition:

    • Clearly articulate the unique aspects of your alternatives product and the market research backing it. This will attract individuals who are genuinely interested and see potential in your idea.
  3. Seek Out Specific Expertise:

    • Look for individuals with complementary skills. For instance, if your strength is in market research and product development, find someone with a strong background in finance, fundraising, or operations.
  4. Leverage Educational and Professional Networks:

    • Utilize your connections from your EU and US target schools. Alumni networks can be a valuable resource for finding potential co-founders with the right experience and mindset.
  5. Online Platforms and Social Media:

    • Platforms like LinkedIn can be useful for reaching out to professionals with the specific expertise you need. Join relevant groups and participate in discussions to increase your visibility.
  6. Be Clear About Your Vision and Commitment:

    • Ensure that any potential co-founder understands your vision and is equally committed. Starting a fund or company requires significant dedication and alignment of goals.

If you're interested in connecting with others on Wall Street Oasis, you might want to start a discussion thread or comment on existing threads related to hedge funds and alternative investments. This can help you find individuals who share your interests and are looking for similar opportunities.
