Personal finance / investing books for young finance professionals

I will start working as an IBD analyst in London from July 2021. This will be the first time I will earn enough money to save / invest a considerable amount of my income.

While I obviously know quite a bit about the financial industry in general, I am well aware that personal finance / investing is not my core competency as an (aspiring) M&A banker and do not want to make the mistake to base my actions on superficial knowledge or dive in head-first.

Therefore, I would like to do some reading on this topic beforehand..

However, I am afraid that most of the books are either written for complete beginners and do not go much further than "buy and hold forever" and "invest everything in low-cost ETFs" or are already quite specific and do not cover the fundamentals.

I was therefore hoping for book recommendations that lay out a clear way of how to start thinking about your finances and which investments to undertake but are written for people that are already coming from a financial background.

I am aware that this is a very specific request and might require a combination of different books.

Ideally, those books would be more geared towards the UK / European market rather than US (ie with regards to taxation, pension schemes, etc)

I am also grateful for any recommendation that goes beyond books, I am sure many people have been in similar situations when they started their career in finace.

Thanks!
