Sorry but for every super day I've been to, or heard about from peers, you find out the next day. If you don't, at best you are on the waitlist.

AFter a super day, the team huddles and makes decisions while it is fresh in everyone's mind. They don't have a meeting a week later to review.

I would think the VPs comments point you towards the fact you likely didn't get the job.

So, with nothing to lose, I would call one of the VPs. Preferably the one you did worst with. Say you haven't heard back, would like an update. If I were you, I'd find a way to say "technical stuff didn't go well, b/c I was nervous" and be ready to prove you know your stuff.

Thanks for the comments. Does anyone know how a decision is made? If 3 say yes and 1 says no, is this still no? Also, it wasn't a formal superday with other candidates, I was the only one interviewing.

It's not that democratic or rigid. You normally need to get everyone on board with liking you, but the most senior guy is going to be the decision maker. This also depends on group structure, culture, etc. Some MDs tend to be more aloof during the interview process and as long as you don't throw up on yourself when meeting them, they'll defer to the consensus of the rest of the group who will likely be working more closely with you. It sounds like time you move onto the next opportunity and chalk this up to good experience.

They all collectively decide, and you most likely didn't get it. I know it sucks because it seems like you really wanted it but you have to move on. It seems like the VPs comments were pretty clear and you said you didn't think you did well either. I heard of very quick turnarounds for superdays. If you say you were the only candidate, then thats even worse, because they would have no problem getting back to you. Best of luck to you.

Now it's been nearly 10 days since the interview and I wanna take a final action and I would appreciate if you could provide me any opinions for the following options.

  1. Contact the VP and ask where I stand in the process
  2. Contact the VP and ask for a chance to briefly talk over the phone to express my interest and further discuss my qualification.
  3. Ask for a fixed-term or an internship position that may lead to a full-time offer depending on my performance

Thanks.

I'd go with option one (contact by email). Option two will come off as desperate since you already did a super day, and three isn't really on the table assuming you are in the US since BB's don't do that here. Surprised BB's are even interviewing people for FT spots this late in the year... most of that wrapped up in September.

phomonan89 - In a similar position to you as I had a superday a couple of days ago with a good, great, and terrible interview (the last one was a total blundering of technicals on my part and with the most senior member of the interviewers I spoke with : think ED/MD). I'm still holding out hope that 2 good interviews will override one fuck-up and have been told by most people familiar with the process to wait a week to hear back. I actually was thinking about combining your options 1 and 2 into an email to the ED/MD who I screwed up with if I don't hear any news within the week. Best of luck and let us know how it goes!

Yeah. Let's keep each other posted how it really goes. GL!
