1st year analyst tax question

Hi all,

I have a question regarding tax avoidance. I’m a first year (ignore title) who moved to the city a couple months ago to start my job. I come from a state and county with a much lower income tax rate compared to NYC. I was wondering if there’s any way I can avoid any of the state or local taxes by trying to file in my previous state where I am from (and where I lived with my family). Don’t want to commit fraud but I also despise the idea of paying such high local taxes considering they are funding the bums shooting up and threatening to stab me daily next to my overpriced shoebox of an apartment. Any advice would be appreciated.
