good southern school and non target school don't go hand in hand.
if you are at UVA, UNC, Duke, maybe even SMU, then you are not cooked. if you are at a non target, yes, you are cooked since 3.5 will kill you.
schools like umiami/tulane/wake/tcu/smu. with extensive netowrking couldnt that bypass gpa screening? and what if it wa sborugh tup to like 3.6-3.66 ish
I had a 3.5 and did just fine. Never got asked about it once in 200+ networking calls and 10+ interviews.
what early id programs have dropped I thought most do in the fall?
More freshman exposure programs not really early idea those would be this upcoming fall, but there's been different series and programs for ex exposure as a freshman which can pipeline into the early ID programs
Wouldn’t count yourself out of bb and mm. Current analyst at gs/ms with similar background. Southern school with ~3.5
Get great calls in with your alumni work, pair that with some luck, you’ll be landing plenty of interviews. Then just gotta crush the interviews.
Should I be cold emailing people outside of my alumni network as well?
I didn’t have any success with completely cold emails when recruiting, but as an analyst, I’d respond to cold emails depending on how I was feeling when the email came in. For example, If I had just done well at work and it was quiet for an hour, I’d probably entertain the email.
If you have a high major GPA, no issues in just putting that on there and clearly labeling it - ie x.x/4.0 Major GPA
i dont my major gpa is even lower
