26 Second year analyst in aviation finance trying break into IBD in HK

Just want to hear you guys opinion on some career choices.

A little background. I’m a target school graduate, currently based in NY and have been working for an aviation asset management company for more than one year. Currently I’m part time studying for my masters while working. And now due to some family reasons, I need to consider to relocated back to Asia. However the aviation finance is a really niche industry and I don’t want to put all my hope there in terms of finding another job. And I really want to make the $$$ and the first thought coming to my head is aiming for IBD as a graduate again.

And my main concern is, if I quit my job and finish my masters full time and then start fresh there, will I be considered too old? (Will be 27/28 when I start to work full time there) or do I still have the chance? If it is really a long shot I’ll just stop thinking about it and focus on finding job in aviation or jump to management consulting instead.
