4 Yr Work Exp + MBA enough to transition to IB with focus on metal commodities?
Hi All,
My story: spent 4 years in Asia as a physical metals commodities trader after undergrad from a top west coast schools. But I wanted to come back to the States and get into an IB. I couldn't land a job, so in the main time I took a corporate finance job in a non-related industry (which was interesting too, because I was involved in the IPO).
But my heart is set on IB. Will an MBA from a west coast school, say UCLA, help me transition my career? Or is metals commodities not that big on the west coast?
Appreciate any advice!

MBA from the west coast (UCLA, Cal) can help you get into west coast IB, but remember that west coast IB is mainly focused on Tech companies. I would suggest you to go to a east coast school which will give you more opportunities in getting into New York (where natural resources/metals mining teams are based).
