Maybe I am, who knows. Anyway, I have been studying for a week and some change and have yet to pass one of Knopman's practice tests. I'm scoring in the high 50's and used all of the resources available to me in their training program thus far?
Does anyone have any tips? I've answered more than 700 practice questions. Historically I've been pretty terrible at tests and don't have a finance background. Luckily most of the exam is regulatory based but there is ALOT of content. Significantly more than the SIE. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
Watch all the videos and take detailed notes (if on 2x speed, this will take about 12 hours).
You’ve clearly missed some content if you’re scoring in the 50s after that many questions, so go back to basics and watch lectures.
Then, do practice tests but do them so the answer shows after each question so you actually learn when you get something wrong. Write down difficult concepts and review them each day.
I did this for 5 days and got into the 90% on my last few attempts. Key is just going over material, lots of questions, review what you got wrong, and repeat.
So you only studied 5 days total, or you reviewed each of the difficult concepts for 5 days? I'm just trying to figure out what a realistic timeline for passing is. I feel like in two more weeks I should be good.
I studied 5 days total (which I think is pretty normal for people doing the Knopman course- my bank gave us a week to do it). I spent 2 days watching the videos and taking notes and the next 3 doing practice questions and reviewing difficult concepts. Did probably 12 hours a day on average so ~60ish hours for the entire study process.

Dude idk how you're scoring that low. Not to spook you but you are at a desperate state for those scores after answering that many questions. At this point, you need to go all in.
1. Read the textbook twice, cover-to-cover.
2. Watch all the videos twice and take diligent notes.
3. Read the knopman class summary, at least 1 time every day.
I don't see how you can continue to score that low after that. And no, the actual exam is not easier than the knopman questions. The actual exam is wordier and takes significantly longer than the practice exams. If you don't come from a finance background get the technicals down. It's a significant portion of the exam and they are easy questions once you have the formulas down.
you should approach this with the mindset that your job is on the line if you don't pass. -- Which it is. So, become an absolute hardo and grind for this more than you already are. If people from emerging markets who lack english as a primarylanguage can pass these exams, you can too.
I've approached it like that since day one. Hence why I've done so much already. I dont know why I cant retain the information. It's very frustrating. I'll probably blow through the 2000 question Q bank before I get a passing score and if that's the case so be it.
I’d also advise writing up flash cards and drilling on those until you get the content. Additionally, if it’s looking bad I’m sure you can find a tutor
Keep drilling questions, pick out what exactly you're missing questions on and drill those topics/re-read/watch videos/take notes until you're getting higher. Repeat. Study the Knopman class cheat sheet. Email them for help on one or two topics, they're there for you to do this. Good luck!
You'll be fine. Relax and go get it. It's been a while ago but I never passed a single Knopman practice test but somehow made it through. Just focus on the questions / answers that Knopman guys have a "good feeling on it"
