A2A while Lateraling
I am currently a third year analyst at bank and am looking to lateral to switch coverage. Ideally, I would like to avoid doing another year as an analyst and try to get an associate position. I was wondering if this possible and if it has been done? How would I be able to communicate it in interviews?

If you want to lateral to an associate role, you need to apply for associate roles. Lateraling right before a promotion is a tough transition so it’s best to wait until you’ve been promoted otherwise you’ll likely add on another analyst year. If that’s not an option, your best bet is to apply for associate roles and hope for best, but this is lower probability.
