Accelerated (2-Year) A2A Promote

First-year in a 3-year BB analyst program, but I have heard it is possible to get a 2-year accelerated promotion at similar programs. Saw once on an older thread that this happens at JPM, but have seen no other posts.

If I would be able to get a 2-year A2A promote, I would not bother with on-cycle PE recruiting. I know that other banks have standard 2-year A2A programs, but I am not looking to leave my group.

Would appreciate any insights / anecdotes. Thanks in advance!

What type of firm are you at? Almost every BB/MM will promote any willing/decent analyst after 2 years. It used to be accelerated but is now more the rule than the exception. Typically third years stay analysts by choice for recruiting purposes, or they lateraled in year 2.

EBs are stickier about the A2A program - CVP is a true 3 year analyst program and I don't think they accelerate, Evercore is known to keep some people as analysts for 3 years too. Ask around within your group a bit too, if anyone has gone A2A within the last 2-3 years that would be a good indication.
