Accidentally hitting on coworker on dating app
To preface, since I have been working from home, I have never interacted with this person in real life, and have no idea what they look like aside from their little outlook/Skype image.
I was on a dating app (did not match with them) but sent them a message. About 10 minutes later I realized the person in question had the same name and job as my coworker. I honestly think it is the same person and I am an idiot.
Is this something I just need to hope she does not see and or ignores? Or what do I do in the situation given she sees it and responds will I get in trouble with HR?

"accidentally"- bro it's okay, it might be a bit awkward but there's nothing wrong with talking to a co-worker in your personal life, also you're not her superior or anything so there's no conflict of interest. Worse comes to worst just say it was an honest mistake and move on, it's not that serious.
Did you say any vulgar comments or suggest anything? If not, probably more likely fine.
In the case that you did, I would just try and apologize and take it from there.

Analysts hook up pretty regularly, so not a big deal. Maybe less this year for first years (virtual) but have talked to a lot of older friends and evidently when you trap a bunch of 23 year olds together for 16+ hours per day it's bound to happen.

Given you’re not her senior, did it outside of work channels, didn’t say anything sexist/vulgar/non-PC and don’t continue chasing once she says no/doesn’t reply then you’re absolutely fine. But if in the event this does become a national scandal just move to Thailand and lay low for a few years until it blows over
